Performs a variety of laboratory procedures in Hematology, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Serology, Coagulation, Microbiology and Phlebotomy on specimens obtained from patients to provide information for diagnosing and combating disease. The Medical Technologist Certified is expected to support the mission, vision, and values of Olathe Medical Center, Inc.
Baccalaureate Degree and certification with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency (NCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT-HEW) or the successful completion of a United States Military Laboratory training program.
Eligibility for certification is acceptable provided certification is earned within 90 days of employment. If certification is not acquired within the first 90 days of employment, the incumbent will automatically be changed to an un-certified Medical Technologist (job grade 20216).
No experience required, but experience in a clinical hospital Lab is preferred
Equipment: Laboratory instrumentation (Prefer Experience with: Sysmex XE-2100, XT-1800, CA-1500, CA-540, Dade Dimension RXL, Ortho ECI, or similar equipment), durable equipment (centrifuges, pipettes, cell counters, timers, cell washers, scales, etc), blood collection equipment and safety equipment. Experience with Computers
Medical Technologist-MT(ASCP), Clinical Laboratory Scientist-CLS(NCA) or
Medical Technologist-MT(AMT), Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT-HEW) or the successful completion of a United States Military Laboratory training program.
