Serve as Referral Coordinator for oral & maxillofacial surgery, review referrals from referring physicians, schedule appointments, and maintain referral database.
Schedule new visits determining appropriate sub-specialty within a clinic based on symptoms described and urgency of the appointment request.
Coordinate and facilitate communication between primary care physicians and specialists, managed care operations, clinic personnel and patients regarding authorization for service and other insurance inquires.
Triage calls within established guidelines for immediate attention for patient conditions of an emergent nature.
Provide information to patient regarding billing procedures.
Demonstrate multitasking ability. Knowledge of medical and dental terminology. Reasonable experience with an electronic patient management system using scheduling, referral and billing modules. Ability to utilize AIM, E-referral, Champs and WebDenis. Working knowledge of CPT and CDA codes that require prior authorizations. Reasonable knowledge of medical center policies and procedures. Previous experience in dental
and medical billing. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work well in a fast paced, large volume clinic with Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry patients, faculty and staff. Proficient computer skills. Excellent ability to multitask. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent attendance record. Desired Qualifications*
Experience with Epic/MiChart referral system is strongly desired.
Experience with Epic/MiChart scheduling system is strongly desired.
Experience with Axium/MiDent scheduling system is strongly desired.
