This individual will help with the opening of our new offices and provide overall technical support our employees.
This position will be based in Basho ’s Cambridge, MA headquarters and also support teams located in the San Francisco, CA and Reston, VA offices. It will be necessary to travel on occasion to other offices and sites.Responsibilities include: •Happily providing Basho employees with computer operations support •Maintaining day-to-day operations of Basho ’s computer system, including installing software, resolving problems, and monitoring the system •Ensure ongoing usability of desktop computers, equipment and software •Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network problems •Setting up office switches / printers and office WiFi •Configuring VOIP switches •Ordering new computers and network hardware •Racking and stacking servers with the DevOps team •Managing email inboxes and mailing lists •Tracking hardware assetsDesired skills and experience: •4+ years of Systems Administration experience, including relevant experience with Windows 7 and Apple MacOS •Bachelor ’s degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience •Prior experience running and participating in projects with distributed teams •Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully with individuals of varying levels of computer proficiency in order to provide support and resolve issues •Excellent problem solving skills and demonstrated creative thinking in order to resolve issues quickly and efficiently •Must possess a can-do attitude and have a passion for technology •Willingness to learn quickly as priorities change •Strong written and verbal communications skills •Ability to travel up to 25% as a requirement of the job
