Research Scientist - Hardware Engineer
Intel Architecture Group is researching, investigating and designing novel computer systems that scale from one TFLOP/sec up to one ExaFLOP/sec. These systems are very dynamic; they can be configured to operate with extremely low energy per operation and meet a very lower power target. They can also be configured to operate with higher energy per operation achieving considerably higher performance while consuming higher power.
Scalable performance will be achieved through hardware and software parallelism. The system architecture is unique due to extremely low power goals coupled to very aggressive scaling goals. Candidates for this position will join a small motivated team. He/she will define architectural features to support higher performance via parallelism. He/she will also analyze and often emulate or simulate the performance and power effects of mechanisms and policies implemented in both hardware and software
Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant job/internship experiences.
PhD or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science and a record of research accomplishments.
- Familiarity with parallel computer architecture (Multi-core, many-core).
- Familiarity with the challenges of system on a Chip (SOC) designs
- Course or lab work associated with simulation and analysis techniques; using C, C++, System Verilog models and/or RTL and associated simulation and synthesis environments.
- Familiar with benefits and issues for on-die power control and management.
- Knowledge of computer and platform design.
-Knowledge of process scaling and energy consumption in circuits is also a big plus.
