The Assistant Program Manager is responsible for assisting the Program Manager with all management duties and ensuring the smooth operation of consumer services.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and attend all individuals' medical, dental, psychiatric and any other necessary appointments.
  • Complete documentation of appointment and distribute as appropriate to other providers (DDS, day programs, and family/guardians).
  • Develop and monitor scheduling of staff across the program to ensure economy and program coverage.
  • Audit individual financial records on a regular basis.
  • Complete monthly business reports (petty cash, census).
  • Assist with the supervision of staff and attend all staff meetings as deemed necessary by the Program Manager. Lead staff meetings in the absence of the Program Manager.
  • Maintain current medication treatment charts.
  • Ensure accuracy of medications following Medication Administration Program procedures.
  • Maintain current Doctor's orders.
  • Assist individuals in Self-Advocacy, decision-making and empowerment.
  • Assist individuals to identify and develop person centered goals and plans to address any concerns, wants or needs they have.
  • Develop and monitor creative and interesting community-centered opportunities for all individuals.
  • Available on call for consultation in emergencies or regarding imperative concerns.
  • Report all significant issues to the appropriate persons and document issues/incidents according to agency guidelines.
  • Maintain all mandatory core certifications (First Aid, CPR, SOLVE, MAP, HR/DPPC)
  • Perform physical intervention in the event of a crisis.
  • Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates' Human Rights policy.
  • Attends and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.

  • Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and two years related experience.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and the ability to use good judgment.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of people with Disabilities.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge.
  • High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
  • Must hold a valid drivers' license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport consumers.
