      Functional Responsibilities:

      This position is a FULL-TIME position at the Hotel DuPont GREEN ROOM

      Assisting Chefs: Al la carte line skills required. Produces quality soups, sauces, vegetables and meats. Peels and cuts vegetables and meats for platters. Ensures platters are ready to serve on time. Follows recipes in preparing basic food items.

      Preparing: Ensures necessary ingredients are ready for use in food production. Follows instructions, function orders, and standard operating procedures to fulfill assigned work duties. Reviews requests for banquets and restaurants by reading function sheets. Plans and prepares daily food production needs by following prep list and carrying out assigned work duties. Plans and organizes work duties in immediate area. Organizes & prioritizes requests with Chef to fulfill orders on time.

      Stocking: Stocks items for creating food platters or entrees. Covers and labels food according to sanitation standards. Places orders to replenish items under guidance of Senior Chef. Pulls supplies from storeroom to produce items. Ensures all ingredients for cooking are available.

      Maintaining: Maintains work area for cleanliness, safety and readiness for use. Adheres to safety, quality and sanitation standards. Participates in safety meetings, continuous improvement in quality standards.

      Cooking: Receives hot food orders and cooks items from Grill menu. Assists chefs by following instructions and cooking food items for restaurants, banquets or Grill.

      Qualifications
      Knowledge and Experience

      Qualifiied candidates will have:

      One to three years experience as a cook with ability to make hot and cold food products

      Ability to read and follow instructions and standard operating procedures

      Knowledge and ability to adhere of quality standards for safety, sanitation and food handling

      Problem Solving

      Qualified candidates must be able to:

      Organize and prioritize work orders

      Interact with customers in a professional manner

      Work with individuals and teams of diverse backgrounds regardless of race, gender, level, background, etc.

      Listen and communicate to avoid and resolve conflict

      Accountability

      Qualified candidates must:

      Initiate and manage work to meet deadlines for high production team

      Meet or exceed customer needs

      Adapt to change as business needs evolve
