Sales & Marketing Systems management


The Sales and Marketing Systems (SMS) team reports through the Sales organization at The J. M. Smucker Company. The SMS team works with SBA, IS and Cross Functional leadership to define, pursue, and implement system and/or process projects that improve the Sales & Marketing User Experience.

The SMS team is primarily responsible for day to day operation, system requirements, and/or process needs as it relates to Siebel Trade Fund Management & Oracle Business Analytics reporting. Other responsibilities include: author and conduct end user training and communication, actively pursue process improvement and documentation, and ensure corporate awareness of major project progress, industry trends, and strategic direction.


  • Business Process Support and Data Reconciliation:
o Oversee fund tracking process between Sales & Marketing. Specific tasks include: solicit Sales for promotion commitments, solicit Marketing for budget/spend updates, update and publish a shared financial tracker, and support communication needs throughout the process.

o Assist SMS department in managing business process exceptions. Specific tasks include: Review and consolidate transactional data, provide reporting to business process owners so process exception can be executed, and communicate to business end users throughout the process.

o Perform System reconciliation, validation, and reporting. This may include routine reconciliations or ad hoc data validation.

  • Release & Upgrade Support:
o Lead efforts to support earlier system delivery of volume targets to Sales leadership. Specific tasks include: perform end user testing, communicate status to management, and escalate any concerns.

o Represent SMS needs in IS initiative to replace ticket (issue) logging system. Specific tasks include: gain familiarity of ticket logging & escalation process, participate and/or lead AS-IS and TO-BE process mapping, collect business requirements, perform end user testing, develop training material, and communicate throughout the process.

o Assist SMS department with Oracle R12 upgrade end user testing, documentation, and communication.

  • SMS Backfill Support
o Assist with end user scoping responsibility for reporting application

o Assist with data setup for quarterly unsaleables process



  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5-8 years Business Analyst and/or Project Management experience
  • Project management experience a plus, but formal certification not required
  • Software administration and team project experience a plus, but formal experience not required

  • Strong communication skills
  • High comfort level with technology, data analysis, and reporting applications
  • Ability to support Business analysis
  • Ability to conduct business analysis & communicate with business constituents
  • Ability to support & document business process exceptions
  • Process definition & documentation
