Key Areas of FocusLocalization strategyWorld-class localization executionGlobal launch engine and Geo readinessResource PlanningResponsibilitiesLocalization strategyResponsible for creating and growing a world-class localization strategy to support the execution of all of Apple’s marketing communications (Marcom) globally – including interactive, print, channel, retail, content, and video. Define and execute localization model according to Apple’s marketing requirements. This includes defining the foundation of Apple’s localization model for all marketing communication materials globally, and ensuring it can scale to meet growing market expansion. This includes defining all systems, vendors, and processes, and hiring talent, forecasting resources and putting in strong execution and implementation practices.

Redefine the model for Marcom localization so that it is cost effective, efficient, sustainable, secure, and utilizes new tools for automation and consistency. Define options for staffing composition, centralized and decentralized functions, vendor capabilities, and budget impact to support Apple’s global expansion and evolving localization needs.Ensure Marcom localization sessions serve the broader priorities of Marcom globally including proactively working with all marketing communications disciplines globally.Localization executionManage team responsible for all localization planning and coordination between WW Marcom and all international offices. Define scope and deliverables for localization efforts and communicate plans for appropriate resource, schedule, and budget requirements.Oversee the team that executes all planning and logistics for workshops. Ensures geo-readiness through the building and continuous improvement of an effective executional engine.Measure results by tracking regional progress against Marcom priorities, budgets, staffing, vendors, workload and capacity parameters.Work with Technical Project Managers as appropriate to coordinate rollout, adoption, and consistent usage of localization tools to Geos and workshop resources.

Drive continuous improvement in launch readiness of geo teams, supporting the build of an incredibly effective execution engine for localization of WW programs including launch and seasonal campaigns. Resource PlanningEnsure availability of global Agency resources. Ensure a stable of high quality design, writing/editing, web, DM, Video, and 2D & 3D production partners globally. Support sourcing of writer and translator network globally to ensure consistent quality and process in Geos.

Work with WW CDs and Editing to establish a global style guide that addresses how to handle global localization/translation issues. Work with Corporate Marcom and the Geos to ensure new functions such as Business Affairs, Traffic, Content Production, Operations, and other roles are effectively implemented in regions.
