We are assisting our client, a privately-held $100M construction company, in their search for a Controller. The future Controller will: manage and own the general ledger; review reconciliations for related general ledger accounts and department records; manage the job costing process and revenue recognition calculations; prepare of monthly P&L; track indirect overhead costs; prepare weekly payroll costs and calculating the weekly job cost posting from the payroll service submission; manage the monthly close process complete with checklists and calendars of responsibilities; prepare Monthly Financial Statements and Reporting Packages; maintain company budget and prepare monthly budget to actual reporting; perform monthly sales and use tax calculations and required filings; manage and calculate monthly sales commissions; maintain relationships with outside tax preparers, attorneys, auditors, and consultants; prepare quarterly audits; review Inventory procedures, participate in cycle counts, and manage inventory valuation; support Department heads COO and CEO; review of check runs, lien releases, invoice approvals, credit card processing, and expense reporting; develop, improve, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures; and ad hoc reporting and special projects as required. The ideal candidate must possess at minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or 10-15 years of relevant experience; construction job costing and revenue recognition experience preferred; Timberline experience is a MUST; proficiency with MS Office and Excel is required; strong organizational skills, communication skills, customer service attitude, and overall initiative; independently driven but with the ability to thrive in a team oriented environment; and demonstrated ability to adapt and be flexible in order to succeed in a fast-paced work environment. Candidates with a CPA or equivalent will be given priority.
