Production Batch Support Analyst needed to join and work effectively with a production support team responsible for L1 support of production batch processing for the Sears Holdings Corporation. Responsibilities include: Monitoring of batch across mainframe and distributed platforms, ABEND handling and incident resolution for all batch related issues and minor scheduling changes and requests on batch processing and current day schedules for both Kmart and Sears environments.
Analyst should have experience scheduling batch, analyzing and handling batch ABENDs and be able to understand and code JCL. Candidate should have the capacity to learn quickly, follow direction, and communicate effectively. Candidate should have experience with BMC scheduling tool CONTROL-M, specifically with the AJF for making changes to the current active job flow. Candidate should also have a good working knowledge of source control and the tools currently being used by Sears Holdings Corporation (Endevor, ChangeMan, etc…). Preference will be given to someone with additional experience using TWS/OPC scheduling tools for mainframe batch processing.
Analyst will be required to properly performing first level ABEND resolution for batch processing on mainframe and distributed systems; including escalation of issues to the appropriate second level support groups when required for recovery and to ensure proper documentation is being provided in the company’s Incident Management tool; SHARE.
The person we are seeking must be able to work well within a team environment and have very good communication skills. Good analytical and problem solving skills are also required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Knowledge or experience in mainframe and distributed system operation.
Knowledge in one or more of the following software packages or operating devices:
• BMC CONTROL-M Scheduling tool.
• CONTROL-M Alerts monitor
• TWS/OPC Scheduling
• JCL (Job Control Language)
• BMC monitoring products
• Savers\Prod SAR Output Viewer
Candidate must have good organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
Candidate must be able to respond well to problems or challenges under pressure.
Candidate must have good oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
Position hours are in Eastern Time:
There are 4 regularly scheduled shifts.
Team A 9:00am – 9:00pm, Sunday – Tuesday
Team B 9:00pm – 9:00am, Wednesday - Friday
Team C 9:00am – 9:00pm, Sunday – Tuesday
Team D 9:00pm – 9:00am, Wednesday – Friday
Each team works alternate Saturdays within their normal hours.
Shift availability is based on the needs of the business and at the discretion of the hiring Manager.
