The Seller Experience Design team is seeking an innovative and highly motivated user experience designer to join our effort to drive the experience of online selling and selling tools in our worldwide marketplaces.
This senior designer will have a significant impact on our selling business as they take a key role directing design projects in support of our growing base of cutting edge products.
The designer will work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, executives, and other designers, leading design throughout the planning and development lifecycle. The position requires a laser-like customer focus, a data-driven approach, and nuanced understanding of the online product development process. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with some ambiguity, will be able to act well with minimal direction and will be able to thrive in a resource constrained environment.
Key responsibilities for the Senior UX Designer
Ensure user focus throughout entire product – not just the design, but communications, policies – the entire “seller experience” Defining design strategy and pattern libraries to create the best online seller experience at Fulfillment by Amazon. Contribute to the design of useful, usable, and desirable user interfaces in a team environment Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings Use business requirements and market research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements Design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flow of applications and experiences Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-through, and prototypes Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns
At least 5-7 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions is a requirement for application Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for the web Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver
