High School Diploma
Under the supervision of the Director and/or Staff Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will answer the telephone, sort physicians’ orders as to priority, prepare Pharmacy charges using Pharmacy charge manual, and enter charges into computer. Assists in the non professional aspects of preparing and dispensing medications, including but not limited to: maintaining patient records; setting up, packaging and labeling medication doses; filling routine orders for stock supplies to patient care areas; and assisting in all aspects of IV admixture preparation and delivery. Technicians function in strict accordance with standard written procedures/guidelines, any deviation of which must be approved by the supervising pharmacist.

High school graduate. Business school is desired, but not required.
Must possess a valid Pharmacy Technician Registration from the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy within one year of employment. Certification by the Pharmacy Technicians Certification Board preferred.
Must be able to type 40 wpm. Prior office and/or pharmacy experience is desired, but not required.

Stands, bends, turns, stoops, lifts, climbs and uses many physical motions in performing day to day activities; finger dexterity, eye hand coordination, visual acuity and color discrimination required.
