Job Overview

The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

(SMCS) position will support the marketing function in all aspects of the marketing process. The SMCS will be accountable for successful development through execution of advertising, public relations, Web, social media, promotions and events. The SMCS will also be responsible for writing and editing for a range of print and online communications.

Job Accountabilities

Develop, implement and manage the execution of effective marketing and communications plans, tools, materials, programs, campaigns and projects to meet revenue and function goals.

Leverage a mix of traditional and new technology skills to create and execute brochures, direct mail, print and online advertisements, social media, website and presentation materials.

Develop copy and content for use in various internal and external marketing materials, ensuring consistency of messaging, brand identity and employing both traditional print and contemporary online approaches for variety of materials including ads, brochures, mailers, email campaigns, presentations, trade show materials, newsletters, website, social media, press releases and articles for internal and external publications

Assist with web and social media content development, ensuring consistency and appropriate, integrated and effective communication.

Education/Experience Level

Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related discipline

Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing or marketing communications role.

Experience with online and social media is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

Must be a skilled writer with experience writing for print, display and electronic media. Must supply writing samples.

Demonstrated ability to develop, guide and execute marketing plans, programs and materials.

Understanding of the creative process, print production and distribution.

Experience developing advertising and promotional campaigns, including traditional, online and social media.

Experience working with creative resources to develop marketing materials.

Experience with Microsoft office suite (word, excel, PowerPoint), Photo shop and Salesforce for list management preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills.
