Assists the Credit Balance Team Supervisor in identifying, analyzing, reducing and resolving various issues associated with approximately $10 Million of professional and facility credit balance accounts receivable.
Reviews and approves accounts submitted for approval for refunding to various insurance companies and patients to remain in compliance with Geisinger Integrity goals.
Further assists with the development and implementation of work flow processes, system enhancements, and policies and procedures that support the credit balance AR functions for both professional and facility credit dollars.
Assists with the management and leadership of the Credit Balance Team staff. Assists with training of staff, responding to credit balance questions from the team and/or other Revenue Cycle teams, identifies complex credit issues, patterns and/or trends.
Performs duties to support the goals and expectations of the Credit Balance Department and the Geisinger Health System (GHS) in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction. Assisting in resolving credit balances during any backlog situations, Month end, and off peak timeframes.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Assists with the preparation of financial reports for leadership.
Works under the general direction of the Supervisor, Revenue Cycle.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
*Associate's Degree required, plus two years business office experience required.
*In lieu of degree, five years of related business office or health care insurance processing experience required.
*Health Care Revenue Cycle Credit Balance resolution experience preferred.
*Revenue Cycle certification preferred.
*Experience with IDX, BAR and Siemens applications required.
*Minimum of one year to learn all job functions regarding job responsibilities and requirements.
