Basic Purpose

Ensure Facilty equipment & physical plant, including ammonia referigeration system is operational and properly maintained. Perform preventive maintenance and facilty repair/maintenance duties


Experienced manufacturing facility Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance & repair, ensure all facility equipment is operational.

Duties include but not limited to:
Electric: AC Motor troubleshooting & repair, electric protection principles, industrial lighting, motor controls, AC circuit theory.

Mechanical: Welding, use of basic hand tools, v-belt systems, chain drive systems, gears and gearbox drive systems, portable tools, packing, seals, piping, valves, roof repair.

Building Maintenance: Painting, preventive maintenance procedures, light plumbing, .

Refrigeration: Maintenance, monitoring, upkeep of ammonia refrigeration system.

completion of work orders as assigned by management

Overtime and 24 hour on call work necessary as needed


High School Graduate or equivalent required

3+ years experience performing building electrical, general building maintenance duties required

Experience with refrigeration/ammonia systems required

Ability to work overtime & periodically respond to on-call maintenance needs around the clock if needed

Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills essential

Self starter with ability to work independently under limited supervision and direction required

Previous experience in Food Processing/Manufacturing Plant (specifically meat) preferred

Physical Requirements

Standing, lifting, walking, bending

Job occasionally requires work in outdoor weather conditions, in high/precarious places, and in extreme refrigerated/freezer environments (as low as -10 degree Fahrenheit). Responsible for working near moving mechanical parts with exposure to heat sources and possible exposure to prolonged vibration.
