Director of Development

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as Director of Development for the Hollings Cancer Center. Located in Charleston, South Carolina, Hollings Cancer Center is the States only NCI designated cancer center. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program aimed at increasing private support for the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center (HCC).

The primary focus of this position is major gift fundraising. The Director of Development will work closely with HCC development staff, faculty, university administrators and central development staff. A proven track record in major gifts solicitations (gifts in excess of $100,000) is required.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelors Degree and at least five years of professional experience in fundraising, preferably at a university, college, health care institution or closely related field.

Also expected are excellent communication skills, verbal and written; ability to successfully interact with individuals of influence and affluence. The Director will be responsible for managing three direct reports.
