Position Description
This field position is based out of San Francisco.
Candidates may work from home remotely from their residence in the Southeast region of the United States from Texas to Florida.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for demonstrating the use and value of US Oncology and McKesson Specialty Health clinical and business tools, providing education and implementation support to physician and practice staff, and development and maintenance of clinical tools, products and content with a primary oncology focus.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct clinical support to help physicians and practice staff understand and implement US Oncology and McKesson Specialty Health clinical and pharmacy operations tools, services, and initiatives
Provide assistance with drug therapy utilization reports to identify and analyze therapeutic target areas, drive adherence to practice implementation strategies
Participate directly in practice meetings to drive drug therapy and pharmacy operations initiatives
Serve as a drug information and pharmacy operations resource
Development and maintenance of clinical content, tools required for implementation of drug therapy and pharmacy operation initiatives:
Treatment Guidelines, Pathways (evidence-based clinical tools to apply standards of care), Algorithms
Drug and regimen utilization and financial analysis tools and reports
Patient care tools and materials
New drug therapy Information
Policies and procedures
Provide practice-based feedback to clinical team regarding tools, services and programs
Communicate suggestions for improvement, opportunities for new tool or service development to relevant clinical personnel
Other clinical team duties as assigned
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Critical Skills:
3 plus years of oncology experience either through a residency, or practical experience preferred
Experience influencing physicians and practice administrators in the area of appropriate oncology drug therapy
Experience working with and analyzing data-preferred
Experience with developing and working with on-line (web-based) clinical applications and tools-preferred
Experience in pharmacy operations and IV admixture preferred
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent computer skills including: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Outlook
Minimum Requirements
4+ years specific healthcare and/or systems-related experience including 2+ years managerial experience
Education
MINIMUM Education:
4-year degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent experience
REQUIRED Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Physical Requirements
General Office Demands
Must be willing and able to fulfill a 80% travel requirement for the job
