Associate Director for Internship Opportunities

SUNY Geneseo invites applications for the new position of Associate Director for Internship Opportunities.

The Associate Director will: establish and oversee a centralized internship program; cultivate new internship opportunities both regionally and nationally; work closely with faculty and alumni to identify potential internship hosts; establish and oversee guidelines for student and employer participation in the program; monitor the quality and quantity of internship opportunities; establish effective working relationships with departmental contact persons; collaborate with other departments and offices on campus to facilitate internship opportunities; counsel students with respect to the career-specific nature of various internship opportunities; develop and implement effective evaluation instruments and conduct ongoing program assessment; collect and analyze feedback from student interns and internship hosts; prepare annual report; develop and assess student learning outcomes; develop and implement innovative uses of web technologies and manage the use of social media for the program; assist in the overall operation of the Department of Career Development including program development, career advisement, employer development, faculty outreach, and marketing of the office's services; oversee and conduct internship-related workshops and presentations; manage internship program budget and supervise daily operations; actively participate in Department of Career Development staff meetings and events, College convocation and commencement ceremonies, and new student orientation; supervise and train student worker(s).

Qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, higher education, marketing/business or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience in a similar position; demonstrated success in program development; demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships; experience in a higher education environment, and excellent organizational skills.
