This position is located in the Division of Information Technology, ISB, Client Services Section, Dallas Client Services, Greenwood Village, CO of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support and coordination of the implementation of major IT improvement programs, renovations, and service implementations within the Region and Field Offices of the FDIC. Generally, salary is set at minimum shown above. However, candidates who have earned more than the minimum rate for directly related work may request that the FDIC consider offering a higher rate within the pay range. Such requests may be made after the candidate's selection for the position and will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the business needs of the Corporation and in consideration of the median earnings for current employees.

This position requires frequent overnight travel.

DUTIES:
This position is located in the Division of Information Technology, ISB, Client Services Section, Dallas Client Services, Greenwood Village, CO of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support and coordination of the implementation of major IT improvement programs, renovations, and service implementations within the Region and Field Offices of the FDIC. The incumbent supports and coordinates the implementation of major IT improvement programs, renovations, and service implementations within the Regional and Field Offices of the FDIC and also serves as the principal focal point for IT and telecommunications services provided in the Regional and Field Offices of the Corporation. Serves as the principal focal point and coordinating interface with the client Divisions of the Corporation in the Regional and Field Offices on all IT and telecommunications services. Exercises IT responsibility for multiple FDIC Offices. Serves as the principal focal point and coordinating interface with the client Divisions in the implementation of major IT improvement programs, renovations, and service implementations within the Regional and Field Offices of the FDIC. Supports and implements the existing hardware, software and network configuration of the client server environment of all systems within the Regional and Field Offices. Monitors the operation and functions of the local area networks (LAN) within the Regional and Field Offices, and the integration of such LANs with the Regional Office networks and other telecommunications systems.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
There is no substitution of education for the required experience qualification requirements above.

In order to qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving issues with Microsoft Software (e.g., MS XP, MS Office 2003 suite, MS Outlook 2003), remote access capabilities, repairing laptops, desktops, printers, and FAX machines, imaging of work stations, and wireless networking consisting of configuring and trouble shooting work stations to connect to wireless networks.
High Risk Position - Background Investigation (BI) required.

1. Knowledge of computer hardware concepts such as computer architecture, computer communications systems, and peripheral devices (printers, fax machines, data storage devices, etc.)
2. Knowledge of computer software concepts such as data representation, data structures, file systems, operating systems, software development methodologies, and network protocols.
3. Knowledge of project management.
4. Ability to analyze, propose and implement integrated IT solutions to the client.
5. Ability to communicate effectively orally for the purpose of providing effective IT support to field personnel.
