Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Senior Advisor Completions Engineer located in Houston, Texas through February 11 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Position will be based out of Houston.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Focus on shale and UCR asset exploration, appraisal, and/or development programs, provides completion engineering design and operations support to SBUs (Strategic Business Unit) globally.
  • Perform investigations into certain key areas or issues affecting well completion efficiency and looks for opportunities to leverage technology and best practices to improve well design and completion / well intervention operations.
  • Monitor leading-edge technologies in Chevron and industry-wide related to completion / stage-frac activities and looks for opportunities to introduce / pilot test / deploy them in value-added Chevron field applications.
  • Manage and/or supports technology development and strategic research projects in the area of stage-frac well completions and other well design concepts for effectively exploiting ultra-low permeability shale assets and UCR plays.
  • Provide technical guidance and technology / best practices / knowledge transfer between SBUs / Asset Teams and ETC geared towards all aspects of completion engineering and well design related to shale asset and other UCR-related well construction.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering.
  • Specialization in multi-stage fracturing methods such as plug n' perf, frac sleeves, and/or coil tubing frac processses.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in similar roles: Diverse engineering and operations knowledge related to technology, rock mechanics theory, products, services, tools, materials, equipment, procedures, and practices which are relevant to designing and implementing horizontal stage-frac completions in shale asset & UCR play development. Specific subject matter expertise in plug n' perf, frac sleeve / openhole packer, and / or coil tubing multi-stage frac processes.
  • Diverse operational and engineering experience directly related to horizontal stage-frac completions in shale and UCR plays.
  • Proven understanding of how to navigate and leverage the operational capabilities, technologies, best practices, experience of service company partners, technical libraries, and/or other networking sources to support well completion planning and operations activity related to shale asset development.
