Oversees all aspects of a project using planning, monitoring, and controlling processes. Coordinates and completes projects performing a variety of tasks, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing project progress. Requires day-to-day management of project team personnel, communication with key stakeholders, and subject matter experts to ensure successful project execution. Responsible for managing one or more Information Technology projects, primarily medium to large in size, following all project management standards as set forth by the St. Charles Health System (SCHS) Information Technology Program Management office.


(May perform additional duties of similar complexity within SCHS as required or assigned)

Provides hands-on project management and actively manages project plan, deliverables, dependencies, and outcome for selected project(s) as approved by senior management and key stakeholders.

Ensures that project goals and objectives are achieved within the project timeframe and guidelines established by the relevant stakeholders and management committees.

Obtains approval from key client stakeholders when project is completed, and closes the project.

Manages and resolves project-related issues, risks, and changes.

Prepares communication plan and related project status reports to key stakeholders and governance bodies (as appropriate) to provide project updates on activities and deliverables, as well as risks and mitigation strategies.

Identifies and manages overall project dependencies and ensures project deliverables stay on time, on target, and on budget.

Defines and determines the role of project management in each project, including specific roles and responsibilities for each project member.


Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: PMP certification preferred. Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet SCHS driving requirements.

Personal Protective Equipment: Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.

Experience: Minimum five to seven years Project Management experience on hospital-wide projects required. Prior experience with Microsoft Project and project management methodologies using industry standard tools and techniques is required. Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects. A global perspective with the ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization. The proven ability to manage key stakeholder interests in an ambivalent culture while at the same time managing conflicting priorities and business interests. Demonstrated leadership qualities such as conflict/issue resolution. Ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with clients, stakeholders, and senior leadership. Excellent time management skills. Ability to organize and work effectively with project teams of staff from department and clients participating in this effort.
