Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately at the University of California, San Francisco to study neuroplasticity during the recovery from stroke or traumatic brain injury (experimental models). The goals of the projects are to study plasticity changes in the 1) cortico-hippocampal networks via in vivo electrophysiology; and 2) peri-infarct neurovascular improvement upon gene therapy targeting vascular repair or via constraint-induced movement therapy/physical therapy.

Candidates should have a strong background in molecular biology/signal transduction/biochemistry or be familiar with electrophysiology recording techniques. Projects will make extensive use of novel knock-out and knock-in mice, thus experience in the maintenance of transgenic colonies is preferred. The laboratory is located at the vibrant Mission Bay campus with state-of-the-art facilities. UCSF offers an excellent benefits package and training environment for postdoctoral fellows.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. - 2 years ago - save job
