Under the direction of the VP Physican Practice Operations and Medical Director of Beaumont Physicians Partners this position provides expertise and quality assurance monitoring through audits and education sessons for multiple specialties. Responsible for ensuring integrity in accordance with regulatory risk areas for phyiscian practices. Includes providing expertise in CPT4, ICD9 coding guidelines, Medicare Teaching guidelines, additional payer regulations, APC, and PQRI requirements and policies for professional and facility services . Provides educational programs for physicians, and others as required. Reviews and make recommendations of new CPT4 and ICD9 codes and provides recommendations for physician practices annual encounter review.

Required qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent education and work experience (e.g. Associates degree with 5-7 relevant years of experience). At least one of the following coding certifications: CPC, CCS-P, RHIA or RHIT. Minimum five (5) years professional healthcare experience (e.g. coding). Comprehensive knowledge of coding for OP and E/M. Experience with multi-specialities. Excellent oral and written skills. Self-motivated and independent and analytical thinker. Must be able to function independently, organize more than one project at a time, work under stress and within defined deadlines and maintain high-level integrity regarding confidentiality. Computer application skills (Windows, Word, Excel).

Preferred qualifications: Previous audit experience.
