Johnson & Johnson Medical Caribbean, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Laboratory Specialist, OCD, located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. The Laboratory Specialist will provide service for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Markets, Dominican Republic, US Virgin Islands, British, French, Dutch Islands and Trinidad.

Johnson & Johnson Medical Caribbean - PR Marketing Division of Johnson & Johnson International, Guaynabo, is the sales and marketing organization for Johnson & Johnson professional products such as sutures and surgical equipment, products for the prevention of infections and injuries in the operating room, cardiovascular products, and diagnostic equipment. Ortho Clinical Diagnostics serves the transfusion medicine community and laboratories around the world. We're a leading provider of total solutions for screening, diagnosing, monitoring and confirming diseases early, before they put lives at risk. The Laboratory Specialist will promote and teach the use of Ortho Clinical Diagnostics products, instruments and reagents to current and new customers. The selected candidate will enhance customer satisfaction, through an effective partnership with the Equipment Division and an on-going communication with customers in the laboratory marketplace. The Laboratory Specialist will support the introduction of the new products and chemistries within the assigned territory. Maintain an effective relationship with the Department of Proficiency.


A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; a major in Natural Science is highly preferred. A Master's degree is preferred. Medical Technologist Certification is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of experience within the Diagnostic Laboratory and/or Healthcare Industries is required. A minimum of three (3) years of clinical laboratory experience in validation, linearity, and quality control and statistics procedures is preferred. Previous experience in Chemistry and/o r Special Chemistry is desirable. Able to work flexible hours. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish are required. Ability to establish positive interpersonal relations and interact with people effectively and work effectively under time pressure. Demonstrate strong analysis, customer service, negotiation, problem-solving and innovation skills. Be proactive, organized, and resourceful, maintain accountability for his/her actions and make good judgment in the performance of his/her duties. Availability to travel sixty percent (60%) of the time within PR (sales field) and ten percent (10%) to the Caribbean is required.

A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record are required

(A clean driving record is considered one that does not have any combination of three or more violations or accidents, while the vehicle was in movement in the past three years or any combination of three or more violations or accidents, while the vehicle was moving, within any 6-month period). The eligibility assessment is based on the date(s) of the actual violations versus when the conviction occurred.
