BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
The account executive must have at least one year of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing. Edelman DC is seeking an Account Executive, Social Media Strategist to join a dynamic, close-knit team within the Digital practice known for its ability to exceed client expectations, push the limits in social media strategy and personify the term “awesome.
  • Are you able to wear many different hats and lend expertise in multiple areas of social media strategy, including content development, SEO, video and image asset production, and real-time engagements?
  • Are you comfortable juggling different content initiatives (read: 18 excel documents) and making tight deadlines (read: next-day client requests)?
  • Does bad grammar, incorrect use of punctuation, and poor spelling make you cringe?
  • Do you have a knack for picking up a brand’s voice, tone and objectives and being able to craft content according to that target audience – all while remaining under 140 characters?
  • Do you recognize the need for content to be relatable, relevant, engaging, and succinct?
  • Are you comfortable providing thoughtful, timely and innovative recommendations to clients and serving as a lead source for all things content?

You’re obviously a writer. And have a penchant for crafting witty 140-character tweets. For this role, however, the social media strategist should be willing to go above and beyond the normal calls of duty for a copywriter. Thinking outside the box and focusing on bigger picture strategy will be an ongoing requirement of the role, as well as working closely with the measurements and analytics team to translate social metrics into sharable, relevant content for the client’s primary audiences. A strong understanding of SEO implementation is a plus.
