The Director of Cancer Clinical Research is responsible for the management of the clinical trial office. The Director will take a leadership role in developing and defining the strategic plan to enhance and grow clinical research at Hartford Hospital. The Director is responsible for the quality of clinical trial activities and responsible for ensuring all activities are in compliance with the appropriate regulations and further ensuring that the appropriate infrastructure and resources are available.

  • Manage clinical research operations including development of strategies to increase clinical trial accrual
  • Coordinate and oversee clinical trials to meet regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure highest quality research operations
  • Develop and mentor clinical trial staff to ensure highest quality clinical research activities
  • Partner with Principle Investigators within the Cancer Clinical Research program, developing strong alignment between Physician leaders and clinical research office
  • Develop and maintain relationships with physician leaders within the Cancer Institute
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clinical research departments across Hartford Healthcare
  • Provide leadership for the HH and HHC research committees
  • Interface with departments within the organization to ensure strong support for all clinical research activities
  • Provide a leadership role within the Cancer Institute structure, taking responsibility for embedding clinical research in all Disease Management Teams
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with external research entities

  • Strong project planning, leadership and presentation skills as well as an ability to contribute creative yet practical solutions to problems
  • Excellent research skills and experienced clinical trial office management
  • Strong analytical skills

  • Master's prepared in health administration, public policy or sciences
