Job Summary Statement:
Assist in overseeing and managing the Archive's IT system and services. Provide hardware, software and network support in a multi-server networked environment. Provides network and host based security and backup and recovery support for all systems. Evaluate, recommend and configure hardware and software. Provide troubleshooting and help desk support to assist and teach users with varying levels of computer experience and expertise. Supervise the Archive's other IT staff members.

Required/Preferred

Extensive knowledge of general desktop applications including Microsoft Office, FileMaker Pro, various internet applications such as email and web software.

Required

Extensive knowledge of web server applications, protocols and services including Microsoft Internet Information Services, Apache, IIS, SQL, Archive Directory, DNS, DHCP, and SFTP, TCP/IP, HTTP, and PPTP.

Required

Extensive knowledge of web authoring applications such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Fireworks, and BBEdit.

Extensive knowledge of content publishing applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, and InDesign.

Demonstrated ability to manage database server applications including Microsoft SQL Server and FileMaker Server.

Demonstrated ability to install, configure, and administer web-based content management systems.

Demonstrated knowledge in operating web reporting software, generating and interpreting web trends reports, and extrapolation of data for other staff members.

Demonstrated skill in communicating clearly and effectively to prepare detailed specifications, good technical documentation, and reports.

Extensive knowledge of major server and client operating systems including Windows 2000/2003 Server, Mac OS X Server, Linux (Mandriva), Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X client.

Demonstrated knowledge of managing complex computer networks (including wireless technologies and point-to-point wide area networks).

Extensive knowledge of Active Directory and directory services principles and best practices.
