Job Purpose : To manage the Central region (Based near Chicago, IL)
Overview : Experienced Regional Sales Director based in the Central Region. This is an exciting opportunity for a Sales professional who is looking to advance their career with an entrepreneurial and dynamic organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer. Will be responsible for Agency, Distributor and Specification management promoting Lighting Science products, and ensuring the achievement of sales goals and profit objectives in defined geographical territories
Key Responsibilities
· Collaborate with local manufacturer representatives to develop market within the assigned territory
· Actively promote Lighting Science products to local manufacturer representatives, ensuring that representatives are knowledgeable about the products and are actively pursuing opportunities
· Ensure the distribution of information and materials to manufacturer representatives, and follow up with representatives in order to maximize sales opportunities
· Evaluate and report sales activities within the territory
· Evaluate and report on competition activity within the territory
· Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers and employees at all levels
· Manage special projects as requested
· Forecast revenue for region
· Minimum of 7-9 years’ experience in a similar position within a manufacturing company
· Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks
· Must be results-oriented
· Possess strong communication and negotiation skills
· Needs to be analytical
· Should have a capacity for innovation and creativity
· Demonstrates a sense of initiative and autonomy
· Embraces change
· Must combine strong interpersonal skills with drive and tenacity
Education Required
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
