The Senior IT Audit Consultant will serve as a member of the IT Audit Services group of Duke Energy.

The position will be based in Charlotte, NC.

Travel will be required.

It is anticipated that travel could be up to 25% annually.

This position will report administratively to a Manager.

Major accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Plan and lead and/or participate on IT audits, including but not limited to SOX-related activities.

Provide technical assistance related to information technology to internal/external personnel, including but not limited to SOX-related internal controls.

Assist in the development of both short-term and long-term audit plans in the IT audit group through risk assessment activities.

Execute audit projects within prescribed time budgets, ensuring high quality audit results and well-crafted audit report deliverables.

Direct the day-to-day efforts of assigned audit personnel.

Build and maintain effective client relationships.

Maintain current knowledge of matters impacting IT, the energy industry, audit and the company.

Depending upon the desired qualifications of the successful candidate, the hiring manager may elect to fill this position at a higher level within the job hierarchy.



Basic Qualifications

4-year degree in computer science, business, finance, or other applicable field.

2 or more years of relevant audit work experience.

Certification such as Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Internal Auditor or Certified Information Systems Security Professional.

Varied IT experience including areas such as mainframe (MVS), PC/LAN (Windows NT or Windows 2000), client / server, web-based systems, application development, interfaces, databases, data security, e-business, project management, etc.

Demonstrated project management experience.

Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.

Ability to develop and incorporate new technologies in the audit process.

Ability to apply auditing protocols.

Ability to understand global context/responsibilities of the audit function.

Desired Qualifications

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately using oral and written communications with all levels of management.

Ability to reason logically, analyze data presented, evaluate the impact of information collected, and draw appropriate conclusions.

Demonstrated functional knowledge and technical skills.

Advanced knowledge in relevant information technology field.

Advanced degree such as an MBA.

PeopleSoft technical expertise.
