Specific Job Related Duties
The Application Specialist will be responsible for obtaining and documenting current UTMB ambulatory Epic workflows, reviewing new Epic workflows/modules and developing a plan to optimize.
The Application Specialist should have in-depth subject matter expertise, technical knowledge and analytical skills.
The Application Specialist should be able to demonstrate experience in documenting business processes, work planning, problem resolution, requirements and technical analysis, software design, software testing and end-user training and a should have a well-developed understanding of project lifecycle management.
The Application Specialist will be expected to serve as a liaison between technical and clinical communities and must be able to communicate complex situations quickly and clearly to people with a variety of technical skills.
The Application Specialist will provide timely project status updates to leadership.
The Application Specialist may be called upon to present software design to technical and non-technical customers.
Performs related duties as required.
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Business or Clinical related field preferred, however years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Strong communication and project leadership skills.
Preferred Work Experience
- Build experience and certification in EpicCare Ambulatory.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing and supporting healthcare applications.
- Experience with documenting workflows utilizing Microsoft Visio.
