The Maintenance Planner is responsible for detailed and accurate analysis, forecasting, and planning of daily aircraft maintenance requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  • Analyzes the AIS maintenance forecast of time-limited requirements for assigned aircraft or power plants, and reviews maintenance requirements generated by other departments
  • Coordinates with the Manager of Maintenance Control/Planning, Maintenance Control, and Dispatch providing input as to the routing of specific aircraft into a maintenance station for scheduled maintenance
  • Coordinate with the SOC on matters concerning flight cancellations, planned delays, equipment swaps and substitutions
  • Assists the Manager of Maintenance Control/Planning in analyzing manpower, parts, and tooling requirements for scheduled maintenance and coordinates with the appropriate departments to ensure proper support of scheduled maintenance
  • Provide a monthly Life Limited Parts list to Materials and track parts as required
  • Contacts outside vendors, ensures tooling and equipment is available, and makes appropriate travel arrangements for specialized inspections and maintenance as required. Tracks outside vendor usage, and cuts Purchase Orders for vendor invoices
  • Builds the Aircraft Maintenance Work Schedule and distributes to the stations and assist in planning and completion of work
  • Develops and issues nightly maintenance work packages in accordance with the General Maintenance Manual based on available man-power and balanced workload
  • Reconcile the daily maintenance plan as aircraft swaps occur, reassign planned work, and monitor and approve task extensions as requested from the assigned maintenance stations
  • Attends daily briefings, as required, with affected department representatives to finalize preparations for nightly workloads. Reviews completed work packages for completeness and resetting of maintenance tracking items. Reschedules Task Extended items to ensure timely completion

INTERACTIONS :

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and five (5) year pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986
  • Able to attend 2 weeks of training in Las Vegas
EDUCATION :
High School Diploma; Airframe & Powerplant license a preferred

EXPERIENCE :
MD-80, 757 or Airbus planning experience highly preferred

KNOWLEDGE :
Aircraft Systems, AIS knowledge desired

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Office environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required
