Engineering Compute Services is looking for a System Administrator/Engineering Help Desk person to work within a team that supports 4000 users across Hardware Engineering. The candidate will be working within a heterogeneous environment mostly supporting Linux and OS X, but will also be required to support Windows, and a NetApp storage environment. There is a full range of back-end services that require help desk support including backups/restores, server/share access, share provisioning, work area management, compute and special purpose servers, databases, web/wiki, and desktop support.Primary responsibilities for this role include: * Deploy and maintain associated servers, including Windows, OS X, linux and Unix servers* Working knowledge of SCCM* Maintain VMware vSphere server and associated host servers* Maintain and add virtual servers* Develop, implement and manage IT Projects* Manage Active Directory domain, including Group Policies and account management* Develop custom scripts to automate tasks* Write and maintain IT documentation and IT policies *Handling requests that come in via email (into the ticketing system), and by phone.* Troubleshooting network and Unix systems. This can also include connectivity/remote access issues, secure access, disk space allocation, and system error troubleshooting.
