Under direction of the General Counsel and/or VP Legal & Government Affairs, an Assistant General Counsel - Contract and Intellectual Property performs work of considerable difficulty in the areas of contract and intellectual property law. Responsible for handling the most complex, highly sensitive and specialized matters of legal policies and procedures related to areas of specialty.
Responsible for legal matters pertaining to intellectual property.
Responsible for legal matters pertaining to the assigned foreign country.
Responsible for legal matters pertaining to products liability including management of product liability litigation.
Responsible for legal matters pertaining to product labeling.
Responsible for legal matters pertaining to the Antitrust law.
Responsible for legal matters pertaining to contract and purchasing laws.
Responsible for legal matters pertaining to general business law issues.
Responsible for presenting legal matters to management on a regular basis.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Jurist Doctorate degree.
Must be licensed to practice law in one of the fifty states.
At least five (5) years of experience in intellectual property law.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Prefer an undergraduate Degree in the field of Engineering.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally.
Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a passport.
Requires a valid drivers license and favorable motor vehicle record check.
