Position Description: In this position you will be directly supporting a provider on a daily basis and supporting the clinic with intervention for direct patient care that requires clinical knowledge. This Medical Assistant will be responsible for collecting all the pre-visit/HEDIS/STAR information on over 400 patients per month that come to the PCP.

This Medical Assistant will also help evaluate approximately 60-75 ancillary walk in patients per month for the Adult Medicine team and will be required to complete a minimum of 800 direct patient support tasks each month. This Medical Assistant needs to provide excellent customer service and help identify opportunities with patients that allow us to adhere to, and improve, our quality measures/star measures for patient care.
Positions in this function assist in the care of the patient by following through on Provider orders for treatments. Individuals may be responsible for taking the patients vital signs, conducting blood draws or take x-rays as certified. Individuals in this function typically have certification or are working towards their certification as a Medical Assistant or May also be responsible for overseeing and participating in day to day clinical care of patients. Employees are involved in direct patient care (in a clinic, in-home care, etc.)

Primary Responsibilities:
Experience with electronic medical records preferred
Computer experience necessary
Limited work experience.
Works on simple tasks using established procedures.
Depends on others for guidance.

Work is typically reviewed by others. Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED
Medical Assistant Certification
1 year experience of Direct Patient Care in Outpatient Care setting

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and WordAssets:
Experience with Electronic Medical Records
Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
HEDIS/Star experience
