The Solutions Support Competency Center PFE team is a dynamic and highly technical organization, providing remote support to IBM customers and business partners on both hardware and software elements of complex solutions. The organization consists of highly motivated technical people with very strong interpersonal skills. We are seeking an individual to join our team who can work in a dynamic environment across multiple teams and products.
This is 24x7 support organization, therefore, team members are required to carry pager on a rotational basis.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: Software, Information Systems or Electrical Engineering.
High School Diploma/GED
Basic knowledge in Linux Red Hat Enterprise and SUSE
Basic knowledge in Ethernet Topology and configuration files including ethernet adapter configuration
Basic knowledge in SAS and Fibre-host based RAID Storage Subsystems
Basic knowledge in File Systems/Concepts of Distributed File Systems
At least 6 months experience in Client Support Engineering Experience
Basic knowledge in and Proven Record of Dependability and Flexibility
Readiness to travel 10% travel annually
Basic knowledge in Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) and GPFS
