Administrative Assistant will report to the Chairperson of the History Department. This position involves updating content on the website, provide administrative support to public historian with regard to internships, coordinate, organize and publicize department events, faculty search administrative support, assist in scheduling semester course offerings, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Updates content on the department’s website (frequent updates to department website, i.e. digital humanities etc).
Coordinate, organize and publicize department events (i.e. Phi Alpha Theta honor society induction cermeony as well as miscellaneous department receptions).
Provide administrative support to public historian (internships, etc.)
Administrative support for faculty searches
Assist in planning semester course offerings
Produce electronic department publications
Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Routine office responsibilities.
High school diploma.
Experienced web design desirable.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be detail oriented.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Word). Familiar with Banner desirable.
3 years experience in an academic environment not required, but an advantage.
