Description : POSITION SUMMARY:
With a wide range of safety and management system knowledge, responsible for assisting with the implementation of occupational safety and health (OSH) strategies, policies, procedures and processes in a large, nationwide organization. Position requires significant administrative, computer software, English composition, and relationship skills to assist a field staff of safety professionals in meeting customer expectations, at the direction of the Program Manager, Region Team Lead, and client Branch Chief. Through mastery of existing systems, position will contribute to the development of safety and management strategies, policies, procedures and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in activities such as inspection report review and production, performance data review, and investigation report reviews.
Attends meetings on matters affecting occupational safety and health, and the mentoring of a field staff of safety professionals.
May serve as a technical or procedural advisor to operational counterparts.
Researches regulatory, procedural, scientific, and engineering written materials related to occupational safety and health.
Participates in evaluating risk and designing control systems.
Participates in safety promotion and training efforts such as training program development, award system design and evaluation, tracking of training program data, and development and coordination of safety workshops.
Will advise workers, supervisors, managers, or other safety and occupational health personnel in safety or occupational health subjects.
Recognizes, evaluates and measures the necessary controls for occupational health hazards and safety concerns.
Regularly travels to visit field activities to inspect or survey workplaces, processes, products, or other systems for compliance or in response to perceived safety concerns.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a bachelor's degree in safety discipline or equivalent, and two to four years of related experience. Professional registration or certification is preferred.
MUST be a US Citizen able to obtain a security clearance.
