Position Description
In collaboration with other Secretariat staff the Staff Assistant assists with print electronic and social media efforts of the Secretariat as well as assisting with the administrative and secretarial work of Associate Director and the professional staff
The Staff Assistant demonstrates shared qualities of effectiveness in all work interactions

Requirements Level HS diploma required undergraduate degree or equivalent preferred Major Field/Specialty Business politics science or communications preferred
Foreign Language Requirement basic Spanish helpful but not required

Other Specialized Training (ie word processing personal computer knowledge of Catholic Church etc )
Strong knowledge of and commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church in regard to the sanctity of human life
Ability to communicate in ways that are articulate and persuasive
Ability to conduct research
Proficiency with e-mail Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Access softwareInternet and websites etc
Strong writing and editing skills
Planning time management and organizational skills

Type and Nature of Professional Experience
Experience in print electronic and social media
Strong writing and editing skills including demonstrated experience producing clear and concise materials
Ability to maintain confidentiality and show prudence in handling sensitive information
Ability to follow established policies and procedures
Experience working collaboratively with peers colleagues and others to achieve mission goals and objectives
Commitment/involvement with pro-life work
Experience/familiarity working with pro-life groups or organizations and knowing how they communicate
