The Alumni Relations Officer for Kornberg School of Dentistry, reporting to the Dean of the School, will promote and support the Kornberg School of Dentistry by fostering lifelong engagement with alumni, students and the greater Temple community. Responsible for the day-to-day Alumni Relations functions within the School. The Officer will work directly with the Director of Development for Kornberg. In addition, this position works collaboratively with the Office of Alumni Relations and the Alumni and Development teams located in Central Institutional Advancement. The Alumni Relations Officer will also perform other duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities:

*Creating and implementing a strategic plan designed to promote and support Temple University by fostering lifelong engagement with alumni, students and friends of each unit.

*Overseeing the management, coordination, logistics and activities of the School’s Alumni Association Board.

*Recruiting, training and working with volunteers to increase involvement of alumni in all aspects of the three colleges and schools.

*Initiating innovative top-tier events, programs and reunions, both on and off campus, designed to engage alumni at varying points of their lives.

*Coordinating alumni communications for the School.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and four years of higher education/alumni fundraising experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

*The position requires local and out of state travel and evening and weekend work as required.

*Ability to work in a team environment with diverse groups of faculty, staff, alumni, and students.

*Demonstrated verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills.

*Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to set priorities and manage several projects at once with minimum supervision.

*Strong computer and event planning skills.

*Possess an ability to motivate and work with volunteers and diverse constituencies.

*Must be well organized, creative, and able to “think outside the box.”

*Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Windows software (Office, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), social media and mobile technology.

*Ability to utilize computer databases.

*Demonstrated verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills.
