Position Description:
Seneca Resources is seeking a Senior Web Developer to join a team of developers to support a major federal public facing website utilizing Drupal on a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP) stack based open source technologies and web 2.0 features. Web 2.0 features such as bulletin boards, RSS Feeds, Twitter, blogs and wikis provide a rich medium for the stakeholders to interact with the department. The senior developer will follow industry standard PHP and Drupal coding practices and write efficient MySQL code that can be unit tested using frameworks such as HttpUnit and PhPUnit. The successful candidate will have experience working with various content types, the CCK and experience in or knowledge of writing custom Drupal modules. Best practices are employing including coding standards, configuration management and release engineering. The senior developer will keep up with the latest in technology such as Drupal 7, PhP5 & OOAD, OpenId among others, and will use this knowledge to propose compelling features that drive up user satisfaction or provide innovative solutions to old problems. This position may also support maintenance and operations of legacy sites utilizing ColdFusion technology as needed (minor percentage of workload).

Skills Required
  • 5+ years of Web development related experience
  • 2+ years of Drupal/PHP experience (minimum of Drupal 6)
  • Strong knowledge of MySQL
  • Solid experience of ColdFusion
  • Experience with Web Technologies, including (but not limited to) LAMP stack, Drupal, WordPress
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Visio
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, SQL, XML, Web Services, DNS
  • Good understanding of development methodologies including Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall

Skills Preferred
  • Experience migrating from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7
  • Experience with multiple Web Content Management Systems such as Drupal, Alfresco, Percussion, TeamSite, WordPress, WordPress MU
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay-for-Performance, Website Usability, Information Architecture
  • Experience with Google Search Appliance
  • Federal Government experience is preferred
