The principal work of the Project Aeronautical Information Systems Engineer I consists of executing aeronautical information and deliverables associated with globally deployed Air Traffic Optimization products. This role follows an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives. The successful candidate will have the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
In addition, you will:
Research, evaluate, acquire, compile, process, format, update, create and distribute multiple forms of aeronautical, geospatial, and cartographic information
Utilize complex and varied data sets such as satellite imagery, digital elevation models, digital obstacle files, aerial photography, and navigation data to develop aeronautical, obstacle, and instrument approach charts and diagrams
Conduct ARINC 424 navigation database coding, submittal and quality assurance activities
Monitor NOTAM and AIRAC reports and determine effects on aeronautical procedures
Analyze existing and proposed construction plans affecting aeronautical operations, conduct on-site data collection and verification
Participate in processes and tool development to create and/or maintain products and ensure regulatory and contractual compliance
Research government and regulator legislation and policies to collect data regarding the availability of air navigation facilities, services, and related procedures
Perform quality assurance responsibilities and ensure standardization and compliance of aeronautical products and services
Performs other related duties, including special projects, as requested or required
The job requires limited on-call and off-hours activities
Bachelor Degree in math, physics, civil, geospatial, computer science, software, or aeronautical engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 2 year of experience in an engineering capacity
Minimum of 2 year of experience in at least one domain: GIS, Navigation Data (ARINC 424), Aeronautical Data (NOTAMs, AIRAC, Landuse)
Minimum of 2 year of experience in either ArcGIS or AutoCAD
Minimum 2 year of experience with a high-level programming language (e.g. C/C++, Java, Python, VBA)
Minimum 1 year of experience with full Software Design Lifecycle and configuration management
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Minimum 2 years utilizing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining GIS applications, particularly integration of custom tools with AutoCAD, ArcGIS or related
Working knowledge of ARINC 424-17;-18 coding of SIDs, STARs, and Approaches
Instrument rated pilot, air traffic control or other aviation / navigation experience desired
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of specific tasks while working as an integral part of a dynamic team on larger tasks
Demonstrated quick learner with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Be highly organized, detail oriented and able to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy
Demonstrated commitment to safety culture, processes, and procedures
