As an ESDA Engineer for the Product Yield Analysis (PYA) group within the Corporate Engineering Group at Micron Technology, Inc., you will work with a team responsible for taking next generation devices from design to mass production. The PYA Engineering team's focus is to drive Probe yield and product reliability, allowing for rapid production ramp and early time to market. Your primary areas of responsibility will be to use Probe and Fab In-Line data (ESDA, Test, Param, Repan) along with the understanding of failure analysis techniques to gain visibility to root cause of yield and reliability issues.
In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintaining the ESDA system
Monitoring Micron's current ESDA system for problems in its ability to collect complete and accurate data in a timely fashion.
Being a central point of contact for customer problems with ESDA.
Identifying root cause of ESDA problems quickly and solve or contact and work with responsible department to solve.
Forecasting future needs for ESDA system and be pro-active in addressing.
ESDA set up for new products
Ensuring ESDA is available for all DRAM and NAND parts before first Silicon reaches Probe.
Verifying that setup is correct and ESDA data is available to YE groups.
Enabling ESDA on NOR and PCM.
Improving ESDA systems
Identifying opportunities to leverage ESDA data for yield improvement and reliability improvement.
Improving the ability to use ESDA for defect matching and reticle shot alignment for feedback to RDA and Photo.
Creating Engineering software tools for ESDA analysis and product line monitoring.
Working with FA groups on tactical issues involving ESDA analysis to understand current usage.
Driving for alignment across fabs on how ESDA data is collected, stored, analyzed and reported.
Working to establish common company-wide criteria for measuring performance of ESDA system.
Working with other departments/sites on prioritizing ESDA related projects (with timelines and deliverables).
Facilitating meetings across departments to get input and consensus on improvements/fixes to ESDA.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in failure analysis on DRAM or NAND.
Prior hands-on programming experience.
A working knowledge of Micron's ESDA systems.
The ability to lead and manage a project with little or no supervision.
The willingness to work outside normal hours and travel occasionally to meet with ESDA users at remote sites .
