The Indirect Global Commodity Leader will demonstrate leadership in working with a global supply base for GET Indirect Sourcing. In this role, you will use your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and directly affect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition, you will:
Develop and execute long term, global commodity strategies for a moderate group of suppliers, with medium level of complexity and/or annual global volume of ~$100M USD
Manage & develop your global supply base to meet YOY deflation and DTP (Days to Pay) goals and implement sourcing strategies that delivers a competitive advantage (This includes supplier selection, rationalization and supplier consolidation to ensure sourcing optimization and overall supplier performance)
Lead sourcing execution for assigned commodity(s) or suppliers (This includes leading and executing RFP / RFQ’s, cutting Purchase Order’s and completing contract negotiations)
Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance and developing improvement strategies to ensure business needs are met
Lead the development & implementation of Key KPI’s and metrics for the GET Global Indirect Sourcing
Partner with key business stakeholders to ensure sourced services or products meet the needs of the business
Drive improvements in sourcing processes including invoicing / payables issues, database management (PBTS) and ensuring all compliance needs are met per the Indirect Sourcing QSP
Work closely with the global business teams & regions to identify areas of opportunity to leverage supplier spend
Develop and manage supplier strategies, including lead quarterly supplier business reviews with your top spend suppliers that will impact forecasting, planning and strategy alignment across GET and GE
Participate on GE Corporate Indirect Cross functional teams that apply to your spend base
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Sourcing environment)
Minimum of 3 years of experience Sourcing experience
Minimum of 1 year of global Sourcing experience
Ability and willingness to travel, as required

Experience in Sourcing and Supplier Development
Comfort with technical tools / systems such as MS Access, Excel and Sourcing Systems (Oracle SSS)
Commercial experience, such as cost analysis, market trend analysis and supporting supplier negotiations
Experience in managing suppliers with multiple sites and global locations
Comfortable with ambiguity and enjoys managing multiple project & complex situations daily
Proven quantitative and analytical abilities, strong PC and database management skills
Strong oral and written communication skills, coupled with interpersonal and leadership skills
Six Sigma training is preferred (GE employees only)
