Sponsorship is not available at this time. size=2 OF POSITION Provide leadership and technical direction to Engineering department. Able to perform design or application engineering functions of a lead nature, broad-impact development and/or specialized responsibilities where only general objectives are stated. Contribute to the development of department capability in Protection and Control design, Engineering studies, Project Engineering, and Market presence. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Plan and perform project engineering for Protection and Control service orders. Determine engineering scheduling and assign work to drafters and engineers and implement project teams. Ensure compliance with technical requirements of assigned work, proper utilization and training of personnel operating under technical guidance, and compliance with approved schedules and manpower estimates. Develop and apply advanced knowledge to prepare protection and control engineered systems. Assume lead responsibility for preparing and presenting application and design of service orders. Perform other engineering functions as required to gain experience and technical competence for advancement. Develop and apply Engineering studies, such as Arc Flash, Coordination, and Short Circuit studies. Support and participate with Marketing and Sales, to develop Proctection and Control offering to meet competitive market demands, and in promoting Protection and Control Services to ABB Sales force and external customers KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Broad knowledge of Power Distribution Systems, with detailed knowledge of Proctection and Control. Project Management training/experience required. Drafting skills in Microstation and AutoCAD Must be able to lead and control projects in related design or power systems area. Requires ability to create new solutions, provide guidance to others, all within limited time. Must be able to work where general objectives are stated, principally as to the nature of the problem, with little or no guidance as to the solution. Work is under minimum of supervision. Must exercise independent initiative and judgement. Demonstrated leadership skills, able to motivate and develop effective team. Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of NFPA70E and applicability to low and medium voltage environments Demonstrated success with the sales and promotion of Protection and Control Services
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, post-graduate study and PE preferred.Demonstrated successful completion of assignment requiring advanced level engineering skills/knowledge. 5- 8 yrs experience in design, development and application of highly technical apparatus at the Sr. Engineer level with demonstrated and recognized creative and administrative ability.
