Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and devices. Must have the ability to perform work in accordance with relevant codes (NEC/NFPA) regulated by state or territory laws.
Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment. Ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Install and maintain wiring and lighting systems.
Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.
Troubleshoot 480/4160 volts motor control circuits
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or devices using hand tools and power tools.
Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.
Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and devices, using hand tools and power tools.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem .
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of an approved electrician apprenticeship program; or a high school diploma and five years of related experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
The ability to service, test, troubleshoot, repair and/or calibrate the following:
Fire alarm systems
Power distribution equipment such as Protective relays and Substation switchgears
Batteries, battery chargers & inverters
Cathodic Protection Rectifiers
High level alarm system
Variable speed controllers
The ability to service, test and program medium to high voltage circuit breakers
NCCER Certification a plus.
Must have strong knowledge and functional ability in the following areas:
Hand/ Eye Coordination
Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Math/ Analytical -- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
English Language – Must possess a basic knowledge of the structure and content of the English.
Public Safety and Security -- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
Customer and Personal Service – Must have strong customer service values
Ability to read, write and verbally communicate the spoken word to understand company handbooks, policies and procedures, and instructions for operating equipment, tools, and office equipment or handling hazardous materials.
