BASIC JOB FUNCTION:
The Case Manager will provide immediate services to victims of Hurricane Sandy seeking relief in Far Rockaway, Queens.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct intake and triage needs of New Yorkers impacted by Hurricane Sandy to assess physical and mental health needs of victims

Provide information and referrals for those New Yorkers in need of such services. Direct victims accordingly

Provide on-the-spot counseling if need be.

Conduct exit interviews with clients who utilized the disaster relief center to ensure all needs were met.

Collaborate with other vendors at the disaster relief site

Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Degree: MSW or related degree required

Years of Experience: 2+

OTHER SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in providing disaster relief services

Knowledge of services available to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Commitment to the mission and programs of SCO Family of Services

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

Possess a strong belief in people’s ability to grow and change

Strong sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics present among staff and clients within agency

Diligent; Strong time management skills

Be a team player

Flexible

Proficient in Microsoft Word
