RN Float Pool

Under the direction of the Unit Director, Manager, or Nursing Supervisor, and utilizing the nursing process, the RN facilitates and provides patient care making nursing assessments and diagnosis, formulating care plans based on these diagnoses, and implementing and evaluating the plan of care. The Float Pool nurse will be part of a centralized pool that is assigned by the nursing office. The Float Pool nurse may also be expected to change assignments during their shift. The Float Pool nurse is responsible for floating to the following areas: Medical, Surgical, Cardiac Medical, CDU, CVICU, ICU, IMCU, ED and Cath Staging.

The Float Pool nurse may float to OB/GYN, Peds and the Cath Lab with documented competencies. The Float Pool nurse may also be floated to TVHS, or LRMC based on staffing needs.
