Our client, a State College, PA electronics manufacturing company, is searching for a Procurement Clerk to join their team. This is a temp-to-hire position for the right candidate. The Procurement Clerk would be responsible for the following:
Identify and order items in a timely manner to support manufacturing operations in accordance with the production schedule
Print purchase orders daily and distribute copies to appropriate departments and perform any changes necessary to the purchase order
Negotiate prices and lead times with vendors
Initiate discussions with vendors to find all possible savings and contracts available
Monitor delivery dates and expedite any items shown as late
Work with Manufacturing office on low level reorder advice
Resolve discrepancies with suppliers that may arise due to late deliveries, poor quality, quantity issues and other related issues
Find alternate suppliers on problem parts due to delivery problems, hard to find items etc.
Interface with the accounting department to resolve any discrepancies with suppliers or costs
Maintain all purchasing related documents and lists as described in the Quality Manual
Process PNMR forms on all parts due to quality or delivery problems
Maximize the concepts of Lean Manufacturing
Requirements
Qualified candidates need to be excellent organizational skills as well as strong written and oral communication skills. Must possess a High School Diploma and 2+ years in the buying/purchasing (electronic parts background a plus) field strongly desired. Computer skills and basic math skills a must.
