This position assists in the delivery of primary health care services and patient care management in our physician clinics. Responsible for obtaining medical histories, preparation and administration of injections, collection and preparation of specimens and performing office laboratory procedures and documenting activity in the Electronic Health Record. Assists physician/provider in preparing patient for examination, treatment and with minor surgical procedures. Schedule referral appointments and distribute patient educational information as directed by physician/provider.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills. Previous clinical experience in a medical office with an electronic health record.
Education
Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses. Current CME certification for Certified Medical Assistant or current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa or Illinois for Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse. BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification
