The Executive Director, Technology Services (IS) is responsible for developing and maintaining the IT infrastructure, Clinical Engineering, and Customer Service areas. These areas include all production systems and underlying technologies, server hardware and software, networks, directory and messaging systems, end user devices, and security solutions. Also, responsible for setting and communicating technology standards, identifying new technologies and for all technology focused (e.g., data storage, data management, help desk, biomedical solutions, etc.) resources.
The Executive Director, Technology Services is fully responsible for the planning, organizing, controlling and directing activities and operations of the Technology Services Department in support of the overall business service functions. The Executive Director is responsible for the organization, control, and management of the Information Services (IS) staff assigned to the IT group.
BS/BA degree required, preferably in computer science, software engineering or other engineering discipline; Masters Degree preferred
Fifteen or more years of hands-on and management experience in technology operations and infrastructure management
Five or more years in a senior IS/IT management position
Deep knowledge of all facets of technology infrastructure including planning and operations for data center, network, desktop, internet technologies, security, data management, production management, disaster recovery and new technologies, including biomedical solutions
Demonstrated track record of successfully managing a large IT environment at appropriate service levels and within budget constraints
Strong analytical and time management capabilities required; must have the ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time, as well as the ability to stay focused on key business and operational deliverables
Practical knowledge and experience with a structured systems lifecycle development and project management methodology
Proven track record as a leader and as someone that can develop an organization
Excellent skills in oral and written communications, leadership, supervision and interpersonal relationships
Ability to develop productive working relationships with IS peers, clinicians, customers/end users, and especially senior business management
Attention to detail, the ability to organize and delegate tasks, and coordinate projects
Experience in budgeting and planning for large systems
